tone & balance

This class has been designed to help you improve your general flexibility, tone your muscles, and balance your mind, body and spirit.

what we do in the class

  1. We begin with gentle breathing exercises to calm the mind, moving onto a range of warming joint freeing exercises which prepare the body for the slightly more vigorous routine during the second part of the class.
  2. The second part of the class involves the practise of Surya Namaskar or sun salutation. The sun salutation routine is effective for very gently stretching, massaging and toning the joints, muscles, circulation and internal organs of the body. It is also an excellent preparation for meditation and relaxation.
  3. The final part of the class encourages you to relax deeply during a 10-15 minute relaxation and meditation session. The overall effect being one of increased power, vitality and bliss.

morning energiser

The morning energiser session gently wakes up the mind and body and prepares you for a positive day ahead. Nowadays we have such busy and demanding lives that taking the time to start the day off positively can really help us to achieve and balance all those conflicting demands. It can also help us to loosen stiff and aching joints, and stop us feeling sluggish.

what we do in the class

We start off with some energising pranayama (breathing practice) to wake up the whole body, followed by some gentle and flowing body mobility asanas (postures) designed to improve joint and muscle mobility, circulation, mental concentration and focus. We spend the final 10 minutes or so relaxing and allowing the effects of the session to assimilate. The result, a truly uplifting start to the day.

relax & restore

How often do you take an hour or so to completely switch off and relax away from all the demands and responsibilities in your life? How often do you allow your physical body to be totally relaxed and pampered? It's probably not as often as you'd like. The relax and restore session, is one luxurious hour of complete physical and mental relaxation.

what we do in the class

The class involves the participants adopting relaxation postures supported by cushions and pillows while they enjoy the silence or listen to relaxing soundtracks. It is said that one hour of this type of deep relaxation is equivalent to several hours' sleep.

Yogic philosophy and modern psychology identify three basic forms of tensions: Muscular, Mental and Emotional tensions. Restorative yoga can aid the release of these tensions by aiding proper relaxation. After the session, you'll start to feel like the real you again.
